With a mission to participate in conservation and educational projects, the Fondation des Amis du Parc Omega coordinates educational workshops in the region’s elementary school to raise awareness of the importance of safeguarding endangered species and preserving biodiversity.
Recently, Vicky Carrière, in charge of research and conservation projects at Parc Oméga, visited Grenville’s Dansereau-St-Martin elementary school to run a workshop on pollinating insects, with a particular focus on the endangered monarch butterfly.
Each participant received an educational booklet, a monarch sticker and a milkweed plant, the latter being essential to the survival of the monarch butterfly.
