The Fondation Parc Om\u00e9ga, in collaboration with Parc Om\u00e9ga and D\u00e9veloppement ornithologique Argenteuil (DOA), has set up a network of nest boxes to support the park’s cavity-nesting bird species. A total of 27 nest boxes have been installed in strategic locations to provide secure nesting sites for species such as the Eastern Bluebird, Tree Swallow, Wood Duck, Hooded Merganser and Great Blue Heron, among others. <\/p>\n

These nesting boxes are monitored annually: they are inspected, repaired if necessary, and their occupancy is documented in order to better understand the dynamics of the species present and the evolution of their use of the territory.<\/p>\n

This project plays a concrete role in strengthening local bird populations by offering alternative breeding habitats, in a context where natural cavities are becoming increasingly rare due to the cutting of dead trees and the modification of wetlands. It’s a simple but effective conservation action on the ground, helping to maintain the region’s avian biodiversity. <\/p>\n

In addition to its direct ecological benefits, this initiative provides an excellent awareness-raising tool for park visitors, demonstrating the importance of active habitat management and harmonious cohabitation with wildlife.<\/p>\n
